King Midas Inc. Recalls lead-contaminated candy

King Midas Inc. a food distribution compnay in Calexico, California has recalled candy imported from Mexico due to high levels of lead in it's contents as discovered by a recent alalysis of Hola Pop by the California Department of PublicHealth . On Friday (May 2nd, 2009) it issued a warning to stores to stop selling Hola Pop. A popular lollipop that has a salted apricot center and covered with caramel.  The candy lillipop also comes in other fruit flavors.

Children and pregnant women  who have comsumed  an Hola Pop Candy should consult with a doctor to determine whether they should undergo further medical testing.
